You need a shoulder to cry on ... is another musical creation by the Non-Musician ... what I mean is, I have never learned to play any kind of musical intrument other than a CD player, hahaha.  Yes, that is the truth ... but ... I composed and played all of the music in this song, all by myself.  Sounds impossible doesn't it?  ... It took many years but I found a way to play the music that lives in my heart on a musical midi keyboard, yes with my own fingers, hahaha ... It takes me much longer than a trained muscian but praise the Lord, I get the job done ... The Lord my God has given me this special talent or gift and the opportunity to glorify him in the creation of this song among many other songs, in that, it was created solely by me using the gifts and talents the Lord has given to me. This song is written and performed solely by me, Alfred Ward.

The intent of this song is to help us understand that sometimes we seem to have favor when everything appears to be going really well but at other times we may fall into tough times, may even fall into a pit of depression.  I know if it has not happened to you, you have seen someone else who were having a really hard time.  Sometimes you may not even know where your next meal is coming from or your gas and electricity may be turned off.  You car may be broken down. You may have lost your job and you don't know where you will get the money to pay your rent or mortgage, you may not even have money to go to the doctor to take care of some sickness that has come upon you.  Well, it is times like this these when you really need a shoulder to cry on just to vent but you also need solutions to your problems.  Well guess what, the Lord is always there for you, he is the solutions to all of your problems and he will always be a shoulder tu cry on at anytime day or night.
