A stroke occurs when oxygen fails to reach some part of the brain.   Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify.  Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim  will suffer brain damage if people nearby fail to  recognize  the symptoms of a stroke, and take action. Now doctors say a  bystander can recognize a stroke by asking the victim three simple  questions:

 


To diagnose a potential stroke victim follow the steps below:

 

Read and Learn just [ 3 ] steps!
 

 

  1. Ask the individual to SMILE
  2. Ask him / her to RAISE BOTH ARMS
  3. Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE coherently (i.e. It is a sunny day today)

 

If he or she has trouble with ANY of these tasks, call emergency (911 or appropriate number) immediately describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.  Use the link below to send an email to everyone you know about this, it can potentially help save many stroke victims.
